GOLD BEACH
Indivisible Gold Beach
Our Story
Indivisible Gold Beach is one of 2,500 local registered Indivisible groups in the USA. It began as the "child" of its well-established and effective parent group, Indivisible North Curry County, located in Port Orford, Oregon.

Trump's second term and his regime's implementation of Project 2025 demanded a strong response, and as the need for activities through Curry County increased, starting another Indivisible group in Gold Beach was a natural solution. Our group was started in early April 2026 when Gold Beach participants in the March 28th NO KINGS rally asked the hosts "How soon can we do this again??"" and the rally organizers decided we could do this every week.

As of mid-June, we are in the process of recruiting our Core Committee members, establishing regular committee meetings, organizing our communications and media outreach and deciding what comes next... which leads us to our next section: CONTACT US!

We are all volunteers here.!! We do not have a formal structure. You can be a volunteer participant by following us on Facebook, attending rallies, emailing us suggestions or links to articles of interest, subscribing to our newsletter or showing up at committee meetings. What unites us is our patriotism and concern for our fellow citizens.
What We Do
Indivisible supports and organizes a wide range of activities to achieve its goals. The most recognizable are the rallies organized and sponsored by Indivisible and its allies, such as No Kings and Move On. We partner with organizations like Mobilize America to organize postcard-writing and phone-banking on behalf of select candidates and causes. We post newsletters with reminders of upcoming events, news of interest to our Gold Beach Indivisibles and suggestions of activities that support our progressive causes.

About Our Rallies
Rallies are good for the soul, and they are effective. We encourage people to do any or all of the following:
-
Enjoy the camaraderie, sing and dance to the music.
-
Suggest new songs to add to the playlist.
-
Use the PA system to make announcements or statements to participants.
-
Bring a flag if you have one. We want MAGAs to know they don’t own our flag —it belongs to all of us.
-
Bring a sign! Make sure it is readable to passing traffic. (If you don’t have a sign, you are welcome to borrow one from our “sign library”.
-
If you are afraid of being identified by family, friends, or co-workers, wear a mask, sunglasses, and a hat, or wear a costume or some other form of disguise. (You are also welcome to wear a costume JUST FOR FUN!)
-
Oregon is one of two states that DO NOT permit police to use facial recognition software. For more on this go to: facial recognition info.
-
If you notice someone taking pictures and you do not want to be included, please let them know! We will do our best to accommodate your wishes.
-
Bring a shelf-stable food item or donate cash in the collection jar for our local food banks. This is our first step in community outreach.
Our number-one core value: nonviolence! We have not had any agitators or serious counter-protestors at our rallies to date, but we do need to be prepared should this change. We don’t discourage engaging with anyone who wants information or begins a peaceful and respectful discussion about a difference of opinion. However, if you encounter an obvious agitator who is disrespectful or threatening, do not engage. Turn your back and walk away. If any situation feels uncomfortable or dangerous, immediately contact a rally host wearing a yellow vest for assistance.
Our regular rally-goers have noticed that friendly honks, waves, and thumbs-ups have become the majority of responses from passing motorists. For the occasional jerk who yells or flips us off: smile big, wave, and yell “Thank you!” It will seriously confuse and irritate them. What could be better?
Are Rallies Effective?
Here's an article from the Guardian Newspaper that addresses this question: https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2025/dec/25/protests-effective-history-impact
About Our Other Actions And Activities
We are currently developing activities beyond rallying to support our goals, and w are actively seeking suggestions for activities you would like to see us support. One of the first suggestions that came our way was supporting our local food banks. We have a donation jar and request donations of shelf-stable foods during our rallies, but we are open to suggestions on how to expand our involvement in this area.
-
View and participate in weekly suggestions from national Indivisible on specific actions such as phone banks and emails to representatives, etc.
-
Support our local food banks by collecting shelf-stable food items and cash for donations.
-
Postcarding through Mobilize America. We are fortunate to live in a progressive state, even if our county falls short in that designation. One popular and effective activity that was started while we were part of Indivisible North Curry County was postcarding sponsored by Activate America in toss-up states. Several Gold Beach residents have expressed an interest in continuing that activity and we are in the process of making that happen. This activity consists of handwriting postcards to support candidates in tightly contested out-of-state toss-up races
-
Local News Reporters. We cannot act to promote our goals, especially locally, without information from our city, county and state governments. It would be helpful to have a volunteer responsible for following and reporting on the activities of these local entities.
